KATHMANDU, April 28: One person died and two others were injured after being struck by lightning in Gorkha.
According to the Gorkha District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as Raju Khanal, 42, of Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-1.

The incident occurred around 7:50 pm on Sunday evening while Khanal was sitting at home. A sudden lightning strike left him critically injured. He was immediately taken to Provincial Hospital, Gorkha for treatment, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The body has been kept at the hospital for post-mortem examination. Similarly, Sukmaya Ale, 50, and Bipana Ale, 18, were injured by a lightning strike in Chyangli area of Palungtar Municipality–7 on Sunday evening.
