KATHMANDU, April 13: An all-party meeting in Birgunj has reached a five-point agreement regarding the clash between two communities in the city.
The all-party meeting held at the District Administration Office in Parsa reached an agreement to ease the tension that had been brewing since Saturday.
As per the first point of the agreement, a detailed investigation will be conducted into the incident, and legal action will be taken against those involved.

Similarly, the second point mentions that all parties are fully committed to maintaining communal harmony and tolerance, and they will cooperate in the legal process.
The third point of the agreement states that arrangements will be made for free treatment of those injured in the incident, and the administration will take the initiative for compensation for the damages caused by the incident.
Similarly, the fourth point mentions that no religious or cultural community will display weapons during any procession or festival. If such an act occurs, it will fall under the scope of legal action, as decided by the administration.
The fifth point of the agreement states that all religious organizations and institutions operating in Parsa district, including schools, madrasas, and others run by these institutions, will be closely monitored. If any violations are found, they will be subject to legal action.
A clash occurred between two groups at around 4:50 PM on Saturday afternoon when the procession organized by the Vishva Hindu Parishad Nepal, Birgunj Metropolitan Committee, reached in front of the Jamia Masjid at Shri Ram Hall, Birgunj Metropolitan City-2.
As the situation became tense, the police fired five rounds of tear gas shells at 5:40 PM. During the clash, a motorcycle was set on fire, and a refrigerator was also removed from a shop and set ablaze. Eight police personnel present at the scene were injured.
