The return of Kandara

KATHMANDU, April 20: After a hiatus of eight long years, popular band Kandara of the 'Hong Kong Pokhara' and 'Tagaroma Rumal Rakhi' fame has promised to quench the musical thirst of its fans with a new album which will be released in June this year.

According to Bibek Shrestha, the front man of the band, the album will be a tribute to lyricist Binod Gauchan who passed away in January 2014. It will also include a song composed by him. Initially formed by the collaboration of five members 21 years ago, the band is preparing for the new album with only three members.


The upcoming album will have eight songs including a remake of their old hit "Timi Pari" of the band. The band also recently released a jam up version of their new song 'Bhedi Gothaima' on YouTube.

After the release of their new album, the band will also be reaching out to their fans via a series of concerts in the major cities of Nepal.
