KATHMANDU, April 25: Tattva Farms is rejuvenating Nepali kitchens with lauch of its flavored jaggery, aiming to uphold tradition and enhance health.
According to a press statement issued by the company, Jaggery, known as Shakhar and Gund in traditional Nepali cuisine, is gradually disappearing from households. Tattva Farms is bringing back this essential ingredient by introducing it in various flavors, preserving its original essence and medicinal benefits.
The statement reads, “Derived from the Arabic term "Shakhar" and referred to as "Gund" in the Terai region of India and Nepal, jaggery holds a significant place in Ayurvedic medicine. It serves multiple purposes as both a food ingredient and a medicinal additive, made by boiling sugarcane juice.”
