Taekwondo team off to Korea

KATHMANDU, July 19: A five-member Nepali taekwondo team, including three players and a coach, left for Chuncheon, South Korea, on Sunday to compete in the Korea Open Taekwondo Champion to be held there from July 22 to 27.

The three players to compete in the event are Ranjan Shrestha (U-58 kg), Rohit Tamang (U-63 kg) and Saksham Karki (U-74 kg) in men's sections. Nabin Kumar Shrestha is the coach and Arju KC is the manager of the team.

The same team will also compete in International Open Taekwondo Championship to be held in Sungnim of same country from July 27 to 29. Nepal Olympic Committee President Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan and General Secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha, among others, bade farewell to the team in the capital on Sunday.
