According to police, 41-year-old Shyam Yadav alias Prithivi Singh, of Bageba VDC-3 in Dhanusha district, was arrested from Jatahi village of Nagarain VDC-9 near Nepal-India border on Saturday.
Police had long been searching for Yadav for his alleged involvement in the bomb blast at Survey Office in Sarlahi district two weeks ago that had left half-a-dozen people including some members of the public injured. Similarly, he was allegedly involved in the bomb blast at the land revenue office in Mahottari two years ago.
Police were able to nab Yadav after tracing the cell phone used by him for extortions.
Superintendent of Police Uttam Raj Subedi informed that police have increased surveillance along the border to prevent criminal activities ahead of the CA elections.
According to police, Yadav was also involved in cylinder bomb blast in a train compartment in Dhanusha on 17 May, 2009. The blast had killed one passenger and injured 29. Following the blast, Yadav had contacted mediapersons on the phone and owned up the blast. Besides, Yadav was also involved in importing explosives to the country to supply to various criminal groups, according to police
