KATHMANDU, July 26: The Ministry of Health and Population has demanded a clarification from Dr Surendra Chaurasiya, the head of the supply branch of the Department of Health Services, who has been accused of accepting a bribe of Rs 50 million.
Minister of State for Health and Population, Hira Chandra KC, issued a letter, ordering him to attend the ministry by 5 o’clock.

In the letter, Dr Chaurasia has been accused of committing extensive irregularities in the purchase of medical equipment worth Rs 10 billion, transferring staff with the alleged transaction of Rs 5 million, and taking more than Rs 50 million in bribes.
