Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia performs in capital

On the occasion of India’s 73rd Independence Day, Embassy of India in Kathmandu organized a concert of world-renowned flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia at Army Auditorium, Bhadrakali.

On the occasion of India’s 73rd Independence Day, Embassy of India in Kathmandu organized a concert of world-renowned flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia at Army Auditorium, Bhadrakali.


Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav and the Foreign Minister of Nepal, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali were the program’s guests of honor. Over 700 people including students, musicians, artists, literary people and life-politicians attended the show.

Pandit Chaurasia was supported by Vivek Sonar and Debopriya Ranadive on flutes, Amrita Uprety on tanpura and Subhankar Banarjee on tabla.


Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia is an Indian music director and classical musician. The artist is mostly known for legendary classical music records and sold-out shows around the globe. Chaurasia has also been featured on The Beatles' 1968 B-side track - ‘The Inner Light’.
