KATHMANDU, Dec 12: The Public Account Committee has formed a subcommittee has been formed to investigate into the 'purchase' of Nepal Airlines widebody aircraft. The subcommittee, led by Rajan KC has been given a fortnight to investigate and present a report to the cabinet of ministers. Other team members include Prem Ale, Dharmashila Chapagain, Pradip Yadav and Krishna Lal Shrestha.

The subcommittee comes at a time when a sub-panel is already in place to investigate into the case.
On December 10, a sub-panel of the Parliamentary International Relations Committee had started its investigation into the procurement and operation of two wide-body aircraft brought by the Nepal Airlines Corporation. The five-member sub-panel is scheduled to submit its report within a month.
