Speaker’s ruling: Ensure safety of Nepalis in India and Pakistan

During Friday’s House meeting, lawmakers raised concerns over the situation, urging immediate government action. Following this, Speaker Devraj Ghimire also issued a directive to the government.

KATHMANDU, May 9: The House of Representatives (HoR) has drawn the government’s attention to the safety and well-being of Nepali citizens residing in India and Pakistan amid escalating tensions between the two South Asian countries.


During Friday’s House meeting, lawmakers raised concerns over the situation, urging immediate government action. Following this, Speaker Devraj Ghimire also issued a directive to the government.

“In light of the current situation between India and Pakistan, I urge the government to take necessary steps to ensure the safety and address any potential issues concerning Nepalis living there,” said Speaker Ghimire in his ruling to the government.
