SIRAHA, Sept 25: Police have arrested a man on the charge of murdering his own father.  

Police said that Shailendra Kumar Yadav of Khajunpur, Aurahi Municipality-3, has been taken into custody on the charge of murdering his father. He is accused of severely assaulting his 65-year-old father, Bhaleshwar Yadav.

According to Mukti Nath Sapkota, the information officer at the District Police Office, Shailendra and his wife Renu Kumari Yadav, 35, brutally beat up Bhaleshwar during a family dispute. The father was seriously injured and died on the way while being taken to Biratnagar for treatment.

An investigation into the incident is underway, police added.
