LAHAN, August 9: Smuggling has been taking place blatantly in cahoots with the custom staffers and security personnel from Indian borders. The smugglers bring goods to Nepal through the Nepal-India bordering checkpoints in broad daylight.
Clothes, motor-parts, foods, tobacco, gudkha and cosmetics are being brought to Nepal evading tax incurring loss to the government revenue.

There are three custom checkpoints operating in Siraha. Thadi, Bariyapatti and major custom checkpoint Khairatoka. Armed police outposts are stationed on the premises of all these custom checkpoints.
Similarly, Nepal Police personnel are also stationed in these posts.
Nepal Police posts have been stationed at Nepal-India bordering checkpoints Jhajhapatti, Aurahi, Itatar, Thadi, Madar, Kalyanpur and Naragi.
