KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Six people have applied for the post of Chairperson of the Film Development Board (FDB).
The applicants include film director and journalist Dinesh DC, actress Karisma Manandhar, former General Manager of Cultural Corporation Rajesh Thapa, director Deepa Pandey Basnet, former board member Prakash Bhattarai and producer and former board member Arjun Kumar Dangol.

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology issued a notice on July 30 and asked to apply within 15 days. The deadline for filing nominations expired yesterday (Wednesday).
The eligibility of the applicants is yet to be tested. Following the eligibility testing, the ministry will announce the schedule of presentation of action plan and interview.
Then a recommendation committee will recommend the names of three people. Based on the recommendation of the committee, the cabinet meeting will appoint one person as the chairperson of the FDB.
Earlier, actor Bhuwan KC was the chairman of the FDB.
