Shekhar faction staging protest at NC party office

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Leaders other than those in the party establishment of the Nepali Congress (NC) are staging a protest at the party office today. They are going to protest for the internal unity of the party, equal opportunities and justice.

Dr Shekhar Koirala faction has been alleging that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba unilaterally handpicked the party’s candidates for the closed list of proportional representation in the upcoming elections.

The meeting of the Koirala faction held on Monday had announced a protest program at the party office. The meeting decided to hold a protest for one hour at the party central office, Sanepa on September 28 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. If the proportional list is not corrected even by September 30, the meeting has decided to organize more protest programs.
