NC rival faction stages a sit-in at party’s head office in Sanepa against Deuba’s unilateral moves

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Leaders belonging to the rival faction led by Dr Shekhar Koirala within the ruling Nepali Congress(NC) have staged a sit-in protest at the party’s headquarters in Sanepa over the unilateral move of the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Leaders belonging to the rival faction led by Dr Shekhar Koirala within the ruling Nepali Congress(NC) have staged a sit-in protest at the party’s headquarters in Sanepa over the unilateral move of the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba. 


Rival faction leaders maintained that the protest was staged to ensure internal unity of the party and equal opportunities and justice to leaders and cadres belonging to the rival faction within the party. The leaders and cadres belonging to the rival faction staged a sit-in at the central office in Sanepa for one hour from 12 PM to 1 PM.

The rival faction has accused party president Sher Bahadur Deuba of unilaterally handpicking the party’s candidates for the closed list under proportional representation electoral system in the upcoming elections. 


A meeting of the rival faction held earlier had announced to unveil further protest programs if the the closed list of PR is not amended by September 30.
