As some community schools are struggling for their existence, locals of Jaljala Rural Municipality-9, Banau have started a new campaign. Locals have made it mandatory for those receiving government salaries and allowances to admit their children to community schools.

A recent meeting of locals with the government officials decided that no government official or representatives should educate their children in private school. "No person holding a government job in Banau will be allowed to teach their children in private schools from this academic year," said Gau Bahadur Pun, chief of Jaljala-9. According to him, a meeting will be called next month to take action against those who will disobey the decision.
