KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The Supreme Court has ordered the government to reinstates Dr Shashi Sharma, sacked dean of Institute of Medicine (IOM) to work in the capacity of the Dean of the institute.
A division bench of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli and Justice Deepak Kumar Karki has issued a order the government to this effect. This has pave the way for Dr Sharma to rejoin the office as the IOM Dean.Dr. Sharma is reitiring on January 14.
SC reinstates sacked IOM dean Dr Sharma
The government led by Khil Raj Regmi had sacked Dr Sharma from the post four years ago on January 22, 2014, after the hunger strike of Dr Govinda KC. Dr Sharma filed a writ at Supreme Court challenging the government decision on February 13. However, then Chief Justice Sushila Karki denied issuing interim order on the writ.
