Sayed breaks national record

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Sayed Hamza Shah set a new record in swimming breaking the record created by Aanand Lepcha twenty years ago.

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Sayed Hamza Shah set a new record in swimming breaking the record created by Aanand Lepcha twenty years ago.


According to Nepal Swimming Organization, Sayed set an unprecedented national record in 100m Butterfly heats with the timing of one minute and 1.22 shattering the record of one minute 3.43 seconds by Aanand Lepcha during Fourth South Asian Games, Pakistan in 1989.

Sayad achieved this feat while participating in Seventh FINA World Junior Swimming Championship 2019 ongoing in Budapest of Hungary.


Adipsa Baidhya is another swimmer who has also created a new national record with the timing of one minute 23.89 seconds in 100m Breaststroke. She surpassed the record of Tisha Shakya which was one minute 25.82 seconds.  o
