KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Nepali national cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane, who is accused of raping a minor, will be arrested as soon as he arrives in Nepal.
As Lamichhane has been blacklisted by the immigration department, he will be arrested as soon as he arrives at Tribhuvan International Airport. DIG Shyam Gyawali, the head of the International Airport Security Office, said that Lamichhane who is accused of raping a 17-year-old minor, has been blacklisted by the immigration department.

The District Court, Kathmandu had given permission to arrest Lamichhane on September 8. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has also suspended him from the national squad following the issuance of an arrest warrant against him.
Lamichhane is currently in the West Indies to play in the Caribbean Premier League. After the T20 series against Kenya, Sandeep reached the West Indies from there. According to CAN, Lamichhane has denied the rape accusation and requested the national cricketing body for legal assistance
