RSP to prepare its position on constitutional amendment

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is holding a two-day central committee meeting to form its clear stance on the constitutional amendment. The meeting, which began on Saturday at a hotel in Kathmandu, will continue until Sunday.


Party Member of Parliament (MP) Ganesh Parajuli said the meeting is focusing on the party's current political strategy, contemporary issues, organizational strengthening, and people-centric matters.

MP Parajuli said the meeting will also discuss the political attack and acts of revenge against party chairman Rabi Lamichhane. "Political vengeance is weakening the party. It is our responsibility to overcome such challenges and strengthen people-centric issues," he said.


Agenda also addresses local elections and cooperative issues


The meeting is also discussing the by-election for local levels, resolving cooperative issues, and controlling cooperative fraud.


Parajuli expressed dissatisfaction with the government's ‘Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Cooperatives, 2081 BS’, saying, "Instead of providing justice to the victims of cooperatives, the ordinance includes provisions that protect fraud and trap the party chairman."


RSP to form clear strategy on constitutional amendment


The meeting will form a clear strategy on the constitutional amendment and decide the party's stance and strategy on the issue. It will continue until Sunday.
