Row in Saptari DFA, dispute in Pars too<br/>Referees form body

KATHMANDU, July 23: The row in Saptari District football Association deepened after Devendra Man Singh Basnet claimed authority in the association. Basnet´s claim comes amid ANFA efforts to resolve the dispute by forming a taskforce. [break]



The election held on June 20 had elected a 13-member committee under Basnet´s leadership. Two days earlier, another election had elected another working committee under Piyush Shrestha´s leadership.



Meanwhile, 17 clubs in Parsa have demanded dissolution of the Parsa DFA saying that the election were held by keeping the stakeholders concerned in dark. Handing a written complaint to Parsa CDO, they demanded scrapping the election.



“The election was held while the association president was in mourning of his deceased mother in Kathmandu. Then general secretary, Anil Rupakheti in connivance with central representative Deepak Khati held the elections illegally,” reads the statement.





Referees form body



KATHMANDU, July 23: A football referees´ meet held in the capital on Thursday formed a 13-member ad-hoc committee of the National Football Referees´ Association under the leadership of FIFA referee Surendra Shikhakar.



Binod KC, Kalpan Sharma and Sailesh Joshi are the vice-presidents of the committee while Kiran Giri, Lawa Khatri and Sachin Amatya are the general secretary, treasurer and joint secretary, respectively.



Similarly, Gopal Thapa, Balaram Thapa, Pema Dolma Lama, Kishor Dhuku, Suraj Manandhar and Hemanta Ale are the members.
