UDAYAPUR, Nov 25: Rajan Kirati (Basu) of the CPN (Maoist Center) has won the provincial assembly election from Udaipur-1 (A). According to the final results of the counting which ended at 10:25 in the morning, Kirati, a candidate of the ruling alliance, started his journey as a member of the Provincial Assembly by getting 15,092 votes.
Kushal Babu Basnet of the CPN-UML, Kirati’s nearest rival, got 13,849 votes. In Udayapur-1(A), where 38,857 votes were cast, Kirati maintained a lead right from the beginning. Similarly, 1875 votes were declared invalid.
Kirati, who was defeated in the first Constituent Assembly election of 2064, also lost the second Constituent Assembly election of 2070. Having been defeated by Dr. Narayan Khadka of NC in both the elections, this time he took a ticket in the province assembly in the ruling party alliance.

Out of 32,235 votes that have been counted for Udayapur-1 (B), Himal Karki of the Nepali Congress has maintained the lead with 13,254 votes. Ishwar Mani Raut of the UML has got 12,670 votes. Karki of the ruling alliance has taken a lead of 584 votes over Raut of UML.
On the other hand, in the elections to the House of Representatives, Dr Narayan Khadka's lead has widened further. According to the results at 6:15 in the morning, Khadka got 16,301 votes while UML's Manju Kumari Chaudhary got 14,531 votes. Khadka, a candidate of the ruling alliance, has a lead of 1,880 votes against Chaudhary.
Dhan Bahadur Karki, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer, said that 38,891 votes have been counted out of the total of 76,576 votes cast.
