The duo from the departmental team overcame Nabita Shrestha and Elina Maharjan11-9, 11-5, 11-4 belonging to the same team in the final. Apeksya Shakya and Gita Thapa's pair of Sunsari, and Saleshi Khadgi and Sonu Thapa Magar's pair of APF finished joint third.
APF secured first position in men's team event for the first time ever in national event. APF team consisting of Shiva Sundar Gothe, Chandan Shahi and Purusottam Bajracharya overcame Nepal Police Club's team of Deep Saun, Amarlal Malla and Rakesh Maharjan's team in 3-2 sets. Sunsari and Lalitpur's team finished third.
Police's team of Nabita, Elina and Swechha took home the women's team event title. Police team edged past departmental rival APF's team of Selisa Khadgi, Sonu Thapa Magar and Anima Adhikari in straight sets, 3-0. Sunsari and Kathmandu finished third.
Deep Saun and Swechha Nembang's pair of Police emerged champion in the mixed doubles event. The duo overcame Shiva Sundar and Selisa's pair of APF in straight sets, 3-0. Amarlal Malla and Nabita Shrestha of Police, and Purusottam Bajracharya and Sonu Thapa Magar's pair of APF earned third place honors.
Shiva Sundar and Chandan Shahi's pair of APF, and Amarlal and Deep's pair of Police has fixed the final date in men's double event.
Meanwhile, Kapil Sharma of Kathmandu secured first position in the men's veteran's above 45 age category earning cent percent winning results. Sharma earned five points in the event featuring six players. Panna Kaji Shrestha of Lalitpur stood second with four points and Kiran Byanjankar of Kathmandu finished third with three points.
The event being organized jointly by All Nepal Table Tennis Association and Morang District Table Tennis Association will conclude on Wednesday.
