Army pair lifts men’s doubles badminton title

KATHMANDU, March 16: Departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club’s pair Ratnajit Tamang and Nabin Shrestha has won the men’s doubles of the ongoing nationwide Krishna Mohan Memorial Open Badminton Tournament, defeating the other departmental team Armed Police Force’s pair of Deepesh Dhami and Bijit Thapa Magar 21-16, 19-21, 22-20 on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, March 16: Departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club’s pair Ratnajit Tamang and Nabin Shrestha has won the men’s doubles of the ongoing nationwide Krishna Mohan Memorial Open Badminton Tournament, defeating the other departmental team Armed Police Force’s pair of Deepesh Dhami and Bijit Thapa Magar 21-16, 19-21, 22-20 on Thursday. 


Likewise, Armed Police’s pair of Puja Shrestha and Sikhshya Shrestha won the women’s doubles title defeating the Army pair of Nangsal Tamang and Any Maya Rai 2-1. The Armed Police pair lost the first set 21-16, but won the other two sets 21-14, 21-16 to win the title.

Similarly, in the mixed doubles category, Armed Police’s Dhami and Puja Shrestha have won the title defeating Army’s Tamang siblings Nangsal and Ratnajit 17-21, 21-19, 21-17. 


Also, on the same day, Darchula’s Prince Dahal won the boys’ U-17 age category title defeating Army’s Praphul Maharjan on straight sets of 2-0 in 21-14, 22-20.
