KATHMANDU, Feb 18: Indian players clean swept the double categories of the ongoing Nepal ITF Junior U-18 Tennis Tournament's Circuit Two on Friday as the pair of Aditya Iyer and Piyush S Salekar won the boys doubles title while the pair of Vaidehi Chaudhari and Shivani Swarup became champion in girls doubles. 


In the boys doubles semifinal match played at Satdobato's tennis court, the Indian pair of Aditya and Piyush overcame the pair of compatriots Gunjhan Jadhav and Atharva Sharma 7-6, 7-5. Similarly in the girls doubles last four clash, the pair of Vaidehi and Shivani overcame the Chinese pair of Yujiao Che and Jingyi Wang 6-3, 6-3.

Meanwhile the girls singles summit clash is set to be an all Indian affair as Vaidehi and Shivani booked their places in the final after producing wins in their respective semifinal matches against Chinese opponents on the same day. Vaidehi overcame Mingqiao Yang 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 while Shivani defeated Yujiao Che 6-3, 6-3. 


Similarly, the boys singles title clash will see Indian and Chinese participants battling each other after Mritunjay Badola and Penjyu Lu booked their places in the final. Mritunjay registered 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 win over compatriot Theertha Shashank Macherla while Penjyu overcame the challenge of Aaryan Zaveri 7-6, 6-3. 


The final matches of the singles events will be held at Satdobato's tennis court on Saturday.
