KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Rabi Lamichhane has reached the District Administration Office (DAO) in Kathmandu today and is preparing to obtain the certificate of Nepali citizenship.
In order to obtain Nepali citizenship, Lamichhane has to submit proof of relinquishment of US citizenship, old citizenship certificate or its’ copy, photograph and a form.

The Supreme Court made decision that Lamichhane is not a Nepali citizen. He lost the post of party chairman, MP, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister all at once.
After the court's decision, Lamichhane resigned from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister on Friday. He was elected from Chitwan Constituency 2 in the election held on November 20.
