KATHMANDU, Aug 7: Nepal Press Union, a sister wing of the Nepali Congress, has decided to hold its general convention on December 14-15.
The central secretariat meeting of the NPU meeting held recently made the decision in this regard. NPU General Secretary Ajay Babu Shivakoti shared that the district and institutional chapters were asked to hold the convention within mid-September.
UML to hold district convention on January 7
Seventy-one district and institutional chapters have already held conventions. Similarly, the Union decided to nominate former Chairman of FNJ, Dr Suresh Acharya, former central chairman Samir Jung Shah and senior journalist Kabir Rana as the central advisors.
All chapters have been urged to provide financial assistance to Batukrishna Karki, founding chairman of NPU at the Lalitpur chapter, who has been suffering from kidney failure.
