KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), will appear at the Rupandehi District Court again today.
On Thursday, the government lawyer concluded arguments regarding Lamichhane's remand, while the two lawyers representing the defendant have yet to present their arguments. For this reason, Lamichhane will attend the court today.
Lamichhane made his first court appearance in Rupandehi District last Wednesday. The court had released him on bail, with the condition that he appear on Thursday. His wife Nikita Paudel and a lawyer assumed responsibility for him.

A case has been filed against 28 individuals, accusing them of embezzling Rs 861.82 million from 1,831 depositors of the Supreme Cooperative. Although the case was filed on April 15, Lamichhane was named an accused in the supplementary complaint.
The police filed a complaint after discovering that over Rs 142.9 million from the Supreme Cooperative had been directed to Gorkha Media Network Pvt Ltd and Rs 20 million had been lent in Lamichhane's name.
Previously, Lamichhane was released after depositing a bail of Rs 6.5 million in Kaski and Rs 6 million in Kathmandu. After Butwal, authorities will take him to Chitwan and Parsa.
Lamichhane was arrested in Kathmandu on October 18 and transferred to Pokhara, Kathmandu, Butwal, Chitwan, and Parsa for investigation.
