KATHMANDU, July 27: President Ram Chandra Paudel and Bishmaraj Angdembe, leader of the main opposition Nepali Congress parliamentary party, held talks at the President’s Office, Shital Niwas, on Monday morning.
The meeting, which lasted about an hour, focused on the country’s current political situation, the role of Parliament and the aftermath of recent natural disasters.
During the meeting, Angdembe briefed the President on rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by floods and landslides in different parts of the country.

The two also exchanged views on recent political developments and parliamentary proceedings.
President Paudel stressed the need for Parliament to play an effective role in lawmaking to help ensure political stability. He also emphasized the importance of coordination among all concerned agencies to provide timely relief and rehabilitation to disaster-affected communities.
The meeting was seen as an opportunity to discuss shared concerns over the country’s political developments and disaster response efforts.
