Party prez fails to play role of oppn leader: Poudel

CHITWAN, Nov 13: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the party president failed to prove his effective role as the main opposition leader in the parliament. 


Speaking at a press meet organized by the Nepal Press Union, Chitwan here today, the party senior leader said the party president could not play an expected role in the parliament. He was expected to present himself ideologically strong, but that was not the case.

He claimed that he was worried about how to restore the party, not about who would be there in the post. He utilized the moment to say that he was invited for a lunch by party central member Sujata Koirala to her residence on Monday. 


As he said, during the meeting, they said just 'hi' and 'hello' and held casual talks on political affairs and did not indulge in any sort of groups within the party. He went on to say further that there was no significant debate in giving the post of vice president to Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar. But the president failed to do so through a due process. "We were agreed to bring him to the post, but wanted it happened through a ‘process’." 


Commenting on the government’s work, he said the government had reached a ‘non-performing stage’ despite the favorable time. "The opposition is staying gently doing nothing and the people are disappointed." RSS
