The ordinance allows citizens of the Gen Z generation, who have reached voting age but are not yet included in the voter list, to register and exercise their right to vote.

EC Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the ordinance removes legal obstacles to collecting the voter list. The EC will hold a meeting to set the schedule for voter list collection.

“We will hold the meeting immediately and set the date for collecting the updated voter list,” Bhattarai said, adding that the commission is expected to finalize the decision by Thursday.
