Police lead volleyball points table<br/>Golden Gate, GAA triumph in basketball

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Nepal Police Club are atop the points table with eight points on Monday in the super league of the ongoing National Men´s League Volleyball Tournament being held at the covered hall of the Dasharth Stadium. Police registered a straight set win over Western Region 25-20, 25-20, 25-10. [break]



The Armed Police Force Club are in the second spot with six points. Employment Creation Service (ECS) and Western Region have accumulated five points each but ECS are ahead of Western Region on the basis of average points.



On Tuesday, ECS will take on APF and Maoist People´s Liberation Army (PLA) will play against Western Region.







Golden Gate, GAA triumph in basketball



KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Golden Gate College and the hosts Godavari Alumni Association (GAA) won their respective matches on the first day of the FedEx 5th Fr Watrin Women´s Basketball Tournament held at the GAA hall, Thamel, on Monday.



Riding on 29 points of Maya Syanngten, Golden Gate, which lead the first, second and fourth quarters, outclassed Snow Leopards 54-32. Similarly, the hosts GAA edged past Prime College 44-27. Sushma Thapa contributed the highest 10 points for the winning side.
