APF took an early lead as their striker Ganesh Lawati scored in the ninth minute. But, NPC came from behind to level the score in the 19th minute. Chetan Ghimire had scored for NPC. The second half of the match remained goalless, but the extra time proved to be lucky for APF. APF found a lovely gift from NPC defender Suraj BK in the 5th minute of extra time as he scored in his own net.
APF player Dhanbir Lal Chaudhary was awarded man-of the-match.
GAA, Prime triumph in women´s basketball
KATHMANDU, Sept 15: The hosts Godavari Alumni Association (GAA) and Prime College won their respective matches on Tuesday in the ongoing Fifth Father Watrin Women´s Basketball Tournament being held at the GAA hall, Thamel.
Riding on the 11 points of Emily, the host GAA, which lead first three quarters thrashed Snow Leopards 41-25.
In another match, Prime recorded a narrow 25-20 win over White House College. Nayana Shaky and Deepika Shakya contributed nine points each to Prime and White House respectively.
APF beat ECS in men´s volleyball
KATHMANDU, Sept 15: Armed Police Force (APF) registered victory over Employment Creation Service (ECS) on Tuesday in the ongoing National Men´s League Volleyball Tournament being held at the Dasharath Stadium covered hall.
APF which lost the first set 20-25, won the next three sets 25-17, 25-21 and 25-15 to register victory. With the win, APF added eight points in their kitty to level points with the leaders Nepal Police team. The last day of the match to be held between the Police and APF on Wednesday will decide the winner of the match.
