KATHMANDU, Jan 24: The four finalists were confirmed for the fifth RBB Men/Women Club Volleyball Championship after their respective semifinals in Kathmandu on Thursday. Defending champion departmental team Armed Police Force Club (APF) and New Diamond Sports Club will vie for the women’s trophy whereas Help Nepal Sports Club and APF will face off for the men’s trophy in the final match scheduled on Friday.
In the women’s category, APF defeated Police Club 3-0 in the semifinal match. The winning team dominated the match in the straight sets of 25-15, 25-16, 25-22. APF is unbeaten in the tournament so far.

In the second semifinal match of same category, New Diamond defeated departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club in straight sets to pull off an upset. New Diamond led by start players Aruna Shahi and Pratibha Mali won the sets 25-15, 25-22, 25-13. In first semifinal match of the men’s category, APF defeated Army in the straight sets of 3-0.
In a nail-biting match played at the National Sports Council’s covered hall, APF completed the win with scorelines of 25-22, 25-22, 26-24.
Similarly, Nepal Sports Club defeated Police in straight sets in the second semifinal match. Sports Club registered the scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-15 to secure the win. Army and Police will face off for the third position finish. Similarly, women’s team of both departments will do same in the women category’s third-place playoff match.
