KATHMANDU, Oct 29 : Police have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in the assassination of Sharad Kumar Gauchan, then chairman of the Federation of Contractors' Association of Nepal (FCAN).
According to the police, Lopsang Lama, Roshan Budathoki and Amber Rana were arrested in connection with the killing of Gauchan in October last year in broad-day light in the capital.

Metropolitan Crime Division is organizing a press conference later today to make public the murder convicts, who are believed to be the sharpshooters.
Veteran contractor Gauchan was shot dead in broad daylight near his home in Baneshwar while he was heading toward FCAN's office in Anamnagar, in one of the most high-profile murders to take place in the capital in the past few years. The murder had drawn nationwide attention and huge protest from the business community.
The shooters had bought motorbike bearing forged number plate (Ba 35 Pa 2461) and gun from Indian town of Betihya for the purpose.
Gauchan, an engineer, was the proprietor of Danfe Construction, one of the biggest construction companies in the country. His company had among other things built the new buildings of the National Cultural Cooperation (Rastriya Naach Ghar) and the Kathmandu District Court.
