BARA, Dec 30: The police have arrested three people, including an investigation officer from the National Investigation Department (NID), in connection with the murder of police assistant Rajkumar Rumba.

The District Police Office, Bara, held a press conference on Sunday and made their identities public.

Investigation Officer Tiwari, who was arrested in connection with Rumba's murder, was stationed at Simara Airport. Purushottam Das, on the other hand, is the operator of Jaymaa Workshop currently running in Simara.

According to the police, initial investigations did not show direct involvement of NID Officer Tiwari. However, as the family of the deceased Rumba has filed a formal complaint against Tiwari, he was taken into custody for further investigation.

According to Khadka, Das had planned Rumba's murder due to an old personal dispute. Das had been following Rumba.

In the course of the incident, Das, riding a car with the number plate Bagmati Province 01028 Cha 7616, shot Rumba on the Amadhar-Ramouli road section of Jeetpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City. Afterward, he looted the jewelry Rumba was wearing and fled. According to the police, when Das was arrested, gold earrings and a wallet were found in his pocket.

Rumba's body was found on the morning of December 21, at the same location where he was shot. Locals had informed the police after spotting Tiwari's car at 7 am on Saturday, and the investigation began thereafter.

The police said a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
