Police arrest “Narapisach” who leaked data of Vianet Communications last year

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Police have arrested a teenager on the charge of leaking consumers’ data of Vianet Communications in April last year.

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Police have arrested a teenager on the charge of leaking consumers’ data of Vianet Communications in April last year.


A team of police from the Cyber Bureau arrested a teenager of Tilottama Municipality-1 in Rupandehi district from Butwal on the charge of leaking data of more than 160,000 users through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

The hacker leaked the data through a twitter handle with the name “Narapisach”.    


Last year, data was leaked by the hacker with the handle name @paapi_kto_mah attaching a link, where the personal data of more than 160,000 Vianet users was made public. The data included emails, phone numbers and addresses.


Police said that it has already started necessary investigation into the accusations against the hacker. The arrestee is being investigated under the Electronic Transaction Act, 2063.
