Patan Durbar Square opens to public from today

LALITPUR, June 11: The Patan Durbar Square has been opened to the public from today after remaining closed after the April 25 devastating earthquake.

Prior to this, Minister for Physical Planning and Transport Bimalendra Nidhi had visited the heritage site and pointed out the need of removing the debris and demolishing the damaged infrastructures from the premises for space.

Though the Durbar Square was opened for public, it takes a week to open the museum, said Information Officer at the Museum, Suresh Man Lakhe.

Likewise, the Bagalamukhi and the Kumbheswor Temples are also opened for public from today itself as they were also closed since April 25.

According to him, Charnarayan, Hari Shankar Temple and Manimandap pati were completely damaged while Bishwanath, Bhimsen and Jyasideg Temples are partially damaged in the quake.

Education Minister Chitralekha Yadav today visited the temples and offered pooja there. RSS
