KATHMANDU, June 29: Pakistan has provided financial assistance of Rs 43 million to Nepal to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Syed Haider Shah handed over a cheque amounting to more than Rs 43 million during his meeting with the Secretary at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Dr Khagaraj Baral on Tuesday. The amount has been provided to Nepal for its fight against the COVID-19, said a press statement issued by the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu.

On the occasion, Secretary Dr Baral thanked the government and people of Pakistan for generously contributing for the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 in Nepal. The financial assistance is part of the COVID-19 Emergency Fund for SAARC member countries pledged earlier by the Pakistani government.
