Surya Nepal provides Rs 10 million to each province to fight COVID-19

KATHMANDU, July 17: Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. has announced a donation of Rs 10 million each to all the seven provinces. Issuing a statement on Friday, one of the leading business conglomerates in Nepal, said that it was providing a total of Rs 70 million to seven provinces to fight against COVID- 19.

KATHMANDU, July 17: Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. has announced a donation of Rs 10 million each to all the seven provinces. Issuing a statement on Friday, one of the leading business conglomerates in Nepal, said that it was providing a total of Rs 70 million to seven provinces to fight against COVID- 19.


The company has already handed over the financial assistance to Province 5, Gandaki and Bagmati provinces. Rabi KC, Vice President, handed over a check of Rs 10 million each to Province 5 Chief Minister Shanker Pokharel and Bagmati’s Chief Minister Dormani Paudel on separate occasions. Similarly, Baburam Karki, Factory head of Surya Nepal, Tanahun, handed over a check of Rs 10 million to Gandaki’s Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung.

The distribution of the remaining contribution worth Rs 10 million each to the respective chief ministers will be completed in the next few days, according to the statement. The company has made these donations as a part of its corporate social responsibility to Coronavirus Infection Prevention, Control and Treatment Funds created by the provincial governments.


Surya Nepal Private Limited earlier supported local governments in Bara, Parsa and Tanahu districts by providing relief materials to economically disadvantaged populations.
