The lifting of the suspension order had paved way for the bank to hold a special general meeting to elect a new board of directors. In line with this, the bank had elected a seven-member board on Wednesday, in which Basnet was unanimously elected to the post of chairman.
The central bank had suspended the board of BoK and taken control of its management on May 20, amid deepening disputes among promoters of the bank. The action was taken on charge that the board had failed to safeguard the interests of the bank´s promoters and depositors.
Yamaha FZ16 team reaches Everest BC
KATHMANDU, July 23: The Yamaha FZ16 team that started its journey towards Everest Base camp via West Tibet reached the destination on Thursday.
Morang Auto Works (MAW), the authorized distributor of Yamaha, announced that the team of 10 riders, led by singer Nima Rumba, waved Yamaha flag at the base camp and expressed their happiness to authority of MAW via satellite phone.
"The team members said they were proud to reach the base camp riding Yamaha FZ16 bike and stated that the Yamaha FZ16 left them with no complains," states a press release issued by the MAW. The team had traveled more than 550 kilometers and reached 5,208 meters, riding on the highest plateau of the world.
"We had taken a risk of going to the base camp on bike, but Yamaha FZ16 proved its statements by safely riding us through rough roads and taking us to our destination without hindrances," said Dipak Bista, national Taekwondo champion, as quoted in the release. The release notes that FZ is favorite among youths and the toughest bike in 150* CC category.
