MUGU, July 29: Service seekers in District Hospital Mugu are deprived of the services for the past two weeks for lack of medicines. Of the medicines of diarrhea and dysentery, the medicine of dysentery ´metron´ is in short supply in the hospital.

Doctors of vacancy here have not come for the past one month and as two doctors on contract left for Public Service Commission exams, patients are deprived of services and lack of medicine has hit them hard. [break]

OPD service In-charge Jangalal Budha said more than 150 people suffering from diarrhea and dysentery come daily but have to be sent out in private clinics.

Although the District Hospital provides free medicines, one has to buy other than the cetamol, say locals. Rural people are these days suffering from diarrhea and dysentery and medicine was mostly sent to health centres and there was less medicine here, but 20,000 tablets of metron will arrive in a few days, said Budha.

Yubaraj Bam of Rara VDC-3 said although the District Health Office has sent medicines, the rural people do not get it in time.

Attention has to be drawn as there is a condition for the needy to lose life untimely, as dysentery and diarrhea are rampant this season.
