No agreement reached to break parliament impasse, NC to continue house obstruction

KATHMANDU, May 16:  Political parties have failed to reach a consensus to break the current parliamentary impasse.


The Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party, is set to obstruct the parliament meeting on Thursday.

The lower house of parliament is scheduled to convene shortly.


The NC has maintained its stance to allow the parliament session to proceed only if the government forms a parliamentary probe committee to investigate the alleged involvement of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the misappropriation of cooperative funds.
