KAVRE, Oct 3: Authorities have imposed a six-day ban on night travel along the BP Highway, citing increased risks as monsoon activity intensifies. The Kavrepalanchok District Administration Office announced that the restriction will remain in effect from Thursday until October 7.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), heavy rainfall is expected between October 3 and 6. To minimize potential risks, all vehicles—except ambulances and those providing essential services—will be prohibited from operating at night during this period.

The notice further states that from October 3 to 7, all public and private passenger vehicles will be completely restricted between 5 PM and 5 AM on the Kavre Bhanjyang–Bhakundebesi–Sindhuli section of the highway.

The BP Highway had sustained damage from floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall last year, much of which has yet to be fully repaired.
