KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) slipped 11.46 points on the first transaction day of the week.
The market opened at 1,937.74 points and closed at 1,926.28 points. The market surged to the day’s high at 1,946.39 points in the first one hour of the trading, but it went to a straight fall in the remaining trading hours of the day.

For the past few weeks, the secondary market has been moving in the bearish trend, while the single day transaction has also been declining. On Sunday, the turnover amount stood at mere Rs 747.22 million.
According to the stockbrokers, investors are reluctant to buy shares as they do not see hope of improvement of the share market any time soon. Likewise, the approaching festivals have also pushed the investors to sell their shares to manage the festival expenses.
Except for ‘others,’ the remaining 12 trading groups lost average share prices. The sub-indices of eight groups plunged by double-digit points.
Himalayan Everest Insurance had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 39.57 million. The promoter shares of the company lost the biggest percent of its market value whereas Mailung Khola Jalvidyut Company was the top gainer of the day.
