KATHMANDU, July 10: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday escalated 23.25 points to close at 2,175.40 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,152.14 points and reached the day’s high at 2,176.6 points in the first one hour. The index however fell to as low as 2,162.96 points in the next one and a half hours. The market recovered around 13 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies added 4.82 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 5.74 billion from Rs 5.53 billion on Tuesday.
Development Bank, with a decline of 13.20 points, was the single loser of the day. Of the 12 gainers, non-life insurance shone with the highest of 141.16 points.
Among individual companies, 193 were recorded as gainers whereas 46 were the losers.
Hathway Investment Nepal Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 150.89 million. SBL Debenture 2083 was recorded as the topmost gainer, while Buddha Bhumi Nepal Hydropower Company Limited was recorded as the biggest loser.
