KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday grew by 13.95 points to close at 2,748.78 points.
The market opened at 2,734.83 points, initially plunging to the day’s low at 2,730.61 points in the first 20 minutes of the trading. The market then experienced an upward graph which took the index to the day’s high at 2,762.52 points in the next one and a half hours. The market then hovered at around 2,750 points for over one hour and shed around two points in the last hours of trading before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, gained 2.33 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 10.32 billion from Rs 7.91 billion on Wednesday.
Among individual companies, 159 were gainers whereas 79 companies were recorded as the losers. Of the seven gaining groups, the development bank enjoyed the largest comeback by adding 60.97 points in its index. Out of six losers, trading lost the largest of 22.75 points.
Janaki Finance Company Limited, with a single day turnover of its shares worth Rs 352.49 million, led the segment. Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Swabhiman Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Upper Hewa Khola Hydropower Company were recorded as the topmost gainers of 10 percent in their market values. Rawa Energy Development Limited shed the highest of 9.12 percent of its market worth.
