KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday declined by 13.53 points to close at 2,583.29 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,596.82 points and escalated to the day’s high at 2,614.29 points in the first 15 minutes. However, the index nosedived to the day’s low at 2,569.4 points in the next around one hour. The market recovered around 15 points and remained stable for almost one hour before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also decreased by 2.69 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 4.51 billion from Rs 4.76 billion on Thursday.
Two groups including manufacturing and processing, and hydropower gained 105.86 points and 22.16 points, respectively. Of the remaining 11 losing groups, non-life insurance posted the biggest fall of 103.35 points.
Among the individual companies, 84 were gainers while 154 were registered as losers. River Falls Power Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 220.31 million. Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd had the largest fall of 6.40 percent of its market price. Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha, Barahi Hydropower Public Limited and Nyadi Hydropower Limited were recorded as the topmost gainers of 10 percent.
