KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday increased by 27.75 points to close at 2,022.35 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,994.60 points and plunged to the day’s low at 1,951.78 points within the first five minutes of trading. The market went to an upward movement in the remaining hours of trading.
Nepse jumps 56.88 points up to cross 2,000 points on Thursday
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also added 4.70 points. The daily turnover amount increased to a whopping Rs 5.157 billion from Rs 3.151 billion on Thursday.
Three out of the 13 groups were losers. Banking, trading and mutual funds lost in their market values. Of the gainers, hydropower surged the largest of 123.37 points, while non-life insurance and development bank also added three-digit points.
Among individual companies, 185 were recorded gainers whereas 52 companies were losers.
Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Limited had transactions of its shares worth Rs 251.29 million and stood topmost in the trade volume. Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited, adding 10 percent to its market price, was recorded as the biggest gainer. Himalayan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 6.77 percent of its market value.
