Nepal's statement on Peacekeeping delivered in New York

KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi delivered Nepal's statement on Peacekeeping at the Fourth Committee of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, on 'Comprehensive Review of the Whole Question of Peacekeeping Operations in all its Aspects' in New York.

KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi delivered Nepal's statement on Peacekeeping at the Fourth Committee of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, on 'Comprehensive Review of the Whole Question of Peacekeeping Operations in all its Aspects' in New York.

In his statement on Monday, Mr. Bairagi highlighted Nepal's contributions to global peace and security, while stressing the need for clarity of mandates, adequate resources, and safety and security of peacekeepers. He reiterated Nepal's full support in strengthening operationalized capabilities of UN Peace operations. 


Meanwhile, in his meeting with Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman, Mr Bairagi exchanged views on various aspects of Nepal-United Nations relations. Similarly, he held a meeting with Under Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Mr Liu Zhenmin and discussed matters of common interest, according to the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in New York, USA.
